Huaweis Stream X GL07S Goes Official in Japan

Today, Chinese mobile phone maker Huawei made official a new Android-based smartphone for the Japanese market, namely the Huawei GL07S, called Stream X.

Featuring a 4.7-inch HD display and a quad-core processor packed inside, the new device should be capable of providing appealing performance capabilities to all users, the company claims.

As Engadget notes, the new device appears identical with the black flavor of the Ascend P2, though there are some design elements that differentiate it from the leaked, unannounced high-end smartphone.

One thing that is certain, however, is that the new Huawei Stream X GL07S will be able to impress on its own, courtesy of the aforementioned quad-core HiSilicon K3V2 processor clocked in at 1.5GHz, paired with 1GB RAM.

Furthermore, the specifications list of the device shows 32GB of internal memory, with no microSD memory card slot to allow for further expansion, along with a 2,350 mAh battery.

The smartphone will also arrive on shelves in Japan with support for LTE and 3G connectivity, and is said to be capable of delivering up to 270 hours of standby time and up to 760 minutes of talk time.

Running under Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, the smartphone also features a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, along with a 1.3MP front camera for making video calls.

Wi-Fi IEEE802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 were also included inside the device, which is the very first LTE-capable smartphone for wireless carrier EMOBILE, it seems.

The new Huawei Stream X GL07S is expected to hit shelves in Japan on March 7, yet no specific info on the price tag it might feature has been provided as of now. It can be seen on this page on the carrier's website.

Although nothing has been officially confirmed on this as of now, given the smartphone’s resemblance with the rumored Ascend P2, chances are that both devices will be showcased at the MWC 2013 show in Barcelona, so stay tuned.
